What do you do for fun? If you’re anything like us, that may be a hard question to answer. Fun? Who has time for fun?

But here’s the thing. . . We think Dr. Stuart Brown puts it best. “Play energizes and enlivens us. It eases our burdens. It renews our natural sense of optimism and opens us up to new possibilities.” Who couldn’t use more optimism, openness, and new possibilities?

That’s why we’re dedicating the month of March to play.

We’ve created a Photo Scavenger Hunt based on March’s Play theme.  So grab your cameras and camera phones and join us.  Get creative. Try a new angle. Get up close. But most of all, HAVE FUN!

We’ve created the hashtag, #takingtimeforplay, for @papercoterie Instagram and Twitter followers to share all the ways they’re having fun this month.  Facebook followers can share their photos on the Paper Coterie Facebook page with the same hashtag in the comment field.  You can also hashtag the prompt, ie. #smile. We’re also playing on Pinterest this month.

We are giving away a $150 Visa Gift Card each week to one lucky random person who posts to spend on something fun. Even more fun? Everyone who commits to take the 31-Day challenge and take a photo will get a fun surprise. Just comment on our blog. Tell us you’re all in. You’re going to have some fun. You’re making time for creative play. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. Set aside a few of them for play. Go ahead. We dare you.

* Winners will be announced on March 7, 14, 21, and 28.  Each Everyday Storyteller blog comment, Facebook/Instagram/Twitter submission with the #takingtimeforplay hashtag will be considered an entry.

    Yay!! Love this, I need more time for fun and this inspires me! I work third shift and have a hard time finding time and energy to play. But one thing I love to do is play with my 10-month old son! Everything from trying new toys, listening to different music, and trying new foods! I love to see him getting messy with chocolate or applesauce!

    I will definitely commit to taking the 31-Day challenge–I’m all in! I think this is an excellent idea and I love to take pictures! I should be able to take some great ones this weekend on the boat (if it doesn’t rain here in GA)! A $150 Visa gift card would be SOO great right now for me. I’ve been going through some tough times here lately, and it’s a nice idea to take some time out for me and PLAY!

    March is my birthday month so it will be filled with family and fun! :) I love the challenge…such a great way to look for different things through the eye of my camera! The biggest thing I do for fun is play with my kids. I love to create fun art projects for us all to do, play with play doh, and I am a big fan of board games. For fun by myself I really enjoy photography and scrapbooking…my creative time!

    Do they have to be new pics? My goal is to sort through the thousands of images from the last couple years. As My 5 year old has informed me that he can remember being a baby, a one year old, and a two year old, but is having a hard time with the three’s and four’s as I am behind on making photo books. Proud he sees the benefit of photobooks, but feeling just a wee bit guilty, too.

      20cZune and iPod: Most people caprome the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
