I have lived thru SO many Valentines Days and received lots of wonderful sentiments, but the best gift was the Valentine I got while I was in high school. My boyfriend at the time was in boot camp in San Diego. He had been drafted into the Marine Corp. He had written to my best friend at the time, sending her money to buy me a card along with a box of chocolate. On Valentines Day, she presented me with the gift. I though the gift was from her. We had exchanged Valentines in the past. I thought it was nice of her to give me such a beautiful box of candy and told her “Thank you.” As I opened the card, my mouth dropped open to discover it wasn’t from her, but from Ron, my boyfriend. My friend even copied his signuature in the card. How sweet that he cared enough to make this happen for me. It isn’t the amount of money you spend on your loved one, but the thought that goes into the gift. Happy Valentines Day!
