Guess what?! We’re almost 1. We launched Paper Coterie last May and can’t believe how quickly one year has passed. To celebrate, our May photo challenge is all about documenting the beauty of life well lived.
Birthdays, holidays, and special occasions are amazing ways to recognize milestones. Don’t get us wrong. We LOVE a good reason to celebrate. But finding value in and documenting the beauty of the everyday is our special mission. This month, we’d love for you to join us in purposely seeking out and capturing the details of the everyday.

I really enjoyed participating in April’s challenge. The prompts got me thinking of creative ways to document life’s little moments and the inspiration carried on and on. My favorite ordinary moments every day are when my little one nurses and falls asleep. It takes a lot more dedication than I realized to breastfeed but I know she won’t be little forever. I’ve learned to take those opportunities to just relax and cuddle. Bring on May!
Am I an adventurous spirit? This question is now rumbling around in my head. Adventurous to me means – spontaneous, risk-taker, no-worries-in-the-world mentality. In my teens and early 20′s…that was me. Now? Cautious, paranoid and a complete stress-ball. I am not blaming motherhood but I guess when you start having kids and you become responsible for people other than yourself…it changes you!
I know I still do have this adventurous spirit and it longs to break-free…maybe this month’s photo challenge will start me in the right direction: Favourite Ritual= my morning coffee, Favourite part of the day= the peace and quiet when the kids are napping, Something ordinary=embracing the chance to get to bed earlier than normal!
A ‘life well lived’ would be interpreted differently for every person and I need to appreciate and celebrate my life for what it is now and embrace everything, big and small, that is in it!

Didn’t get a chance to join along last month but can’t wait to keep up w/everyone this month! The days go by so quickly especially watching my kids growing so fast I so love seeing them become more adventures and learn & I want to be able to capture it via pictures & documenting the little things.

Excited to join in on this! My favorite part of the day is when I put my daughter to bed, and she snuggles into my arms. Sometimes she tries to make me laugh and then giggles or sometimes she just looks up at me with love in her eyes. I can’t imagine life without tha special bonding time!
The May challenge will be the first one I’m participating in — I am excited about doing it, and seeing what others do. I love how this challenge will help me look at things in a different way and appreciate them more.
My favorite part of the day is waking up a wee bit early to enjoy a coffee and get some cleaning done ~ without the kiddies around! Then it frees up some quality time to spend with them later on (no cleaning on my mind, lol)!
I love how my days can include such noisy, crazy moments (with three kids under 5 in the house) and also include times like this—where the house is asleep and all is quiet and I’m sipping my coffee!
I didn’t get to participate in April’s challenge but I am looking forward to doing May’s. I enjoy taking pictures,and I am excited about capturing some new things.

I love each day because my 3 yr old & 7 month are both learning something new or hitting a new milestone everyday. It’s entertaining, rewarding and surprising to see what they will do or say next!

I just ordered my first PC book as a mother’s day gift for my daughter. I can’t wait to surprise her with it.
I love the routine of the everyday. Amid that routine is often an unexpected photo opp. It’s up to me to recognize it. Looking forward to posting some of the prompts to instagram.

I tried in April but don’t understand the instructions. I post pictures on Facebook but am I supposed to label them a certain way? Sorry but I’m new to some of this. I am also on Pinterest so is that part of this too?

my favorite thing about everyday is being with my 3 daughters. But one of the fun days is Wednesday when we have craft day. It’s interesting to see what the girls come up with!
My favorite ordinary moment is being snug under a thick blanket while listening to the sound of rain pattering on the windowpane.

I love documenting the everyday as my little girl grows. She’s almost 3, I can hardly believe it! One of our friends says he believes she has to be the most well documented child ever

My favorite part of the day is first thing in the morning when the kids are still sleepy and just want to snuggle with me. Looking forward to trying out this new challenge!
My favorite part of the day are the moments right before I go to bed. Mh husband and I are so busy working and studying that our days seem to fly by, at night we get hours of uninterrupted time to snuggle and just be together. Knowing that, makes going to sleep my favorite part of the day!
My favorite part of the day is seeing my little boys face light up when he sees me first thing in the morning!
The way my daughter runs to me when I pick her up at daycare everyday. Makes being away from her a little easier when I get the reaction.

Everyday gave me a chance to think outside of the box instead of just taking the same kind of picture everyday. I love checking your page to see what the next photo challenge always holds.
This looks like a fun photo challenge! I am of a mind to try it… a month-long challenge seems more do-able than a 365 or some such something. I love finding beauty in the ordinary so this is right up my alley.
One of my favorite parts of every day is coming home from work and getting hugs from my little sisters.
P.S. The photo challenge is slightly difficult to read. Could it be made a bit larger? Also, I don’t mean to be presumptuous, but could we have a downloadable printable version to keep handy with my camera?
I’m a llittle late to the Instagram fad, but I just downloaded it and am loving it. My everyday love is watching the world from the windows of my 2nd story living room. We live on a tropical island, and the people and animals and trees are ah-mazing!

My favorite everyday, ordinary thing is just watching my kiddos sit in their kiddy sized chairs first thing in the morning waking up to cartoons while I fix breakfast. It’s the one part of the day everyone is calm, quiet, and nice to each other before the chaos ensues… =)

I’ve noticed a sharp decrease in photos taken after a year of taking a photo a day- and I needed the boost to start again- thanks for having this challenge. My children LOVE seeing photos of our life- amazing what one forgets about life from day to day unless there is documentation. Excited to begin today!
I’m glad I get another shot at the photo challenge – I got behind on April’s and never caught back up. Something I love about everyday is when I get to snuggle in bed with my boys in the morning. My two and a half year old will climb into bed and hug, kiss an tickle his 6 month old brother. Easily the best part of my day.
My favorite thing about each and every day is being with my kids. Looking over the prompts above, the things I do each day with my kiddos are the first things that pop into my mind.

Now that it is spring, I love, love, love spending time digging and planting out in our garden – I set aside at least 30 minutes each day just to garden.

I love watching life through the eyes of my 3 year old daughter. She finds excitement in the smallest of things.
I am looking forward to participating in May’s photo scavenger hunt! May is my favorite month! I have many everyday moments I love with my 3 little ones but perhaps my favorite is when they all pile on my bed, fresh after a bath, to read and listen to books.

My everyday adventure is of course my three sweet girls! Number two on the list, running. I’m a trail runner and I love getting up with the sun rise and hitting the trails in the beautiful mountains of Arizona.
Just started keeping a log of the sweet everyday moments with my daughters in an awesome journal I ordered from you. LOVE them and can’t wait for this challenge!
I love waking up early, working out and being able to rejuvenate for the day before our teeny one gets up. I’m then able to have ME time before the day starts.
As a mother of 3 I do love the daily routine of nap/rest time. We all get refreshed and have some alone time. I am the pondering/reflective type and nap time is a great way to do just that and work on my photography and blogging then. Excited to try your challenge for the first time this month!

Completing the photo challenge each day in April was fun, but even more it was a great way to make me slow down, focus on a particular aspect of my life, think about it, and then try to convey it in a photo. Thank you, Paper Coterie!
This sounds like so much fun! You have a beautiful business (thank you for that! I love everything I have gotten from you) I love that everyday I get to watch my children experience and explore something new. I get to relearn things through their eyes. I forget how much fun can be had in things that have become mundane (watching your child making toast for the first time? Hilarious lol)
What a great idea! I love capturing the everyday, because it is so easy (too easy) to get caught up in the daily crazy and miss the small, simply beauties of the every day. The camera can filter out the rest and capture what matters.

I enjoy seeing my 3 yo change every day. He was diagnosed with autism in December. We’ve had to look at life differently, through his eyes, and it is amazing so far. His small steps forward are celebrated with happy tears and smiles.
I really enjoyed last month’s photo challenge, and look forward to it this month.
On the days I work, I love coming home or picking up my twins from the sitter. There faces light up and come running to me yelling “mommy”, then I get the worlds best hug from my two favorite little people. The best way to end a long day at work.

One of my favorite every day rituals is hanging with my husband in the morning after we run, just drinking our coffee and watching the news. The older two kids are already on the bus for school, younger two haven’t gotten up yet. The days go by so fast, evenings are fun but chaotic and sometimes the morning is our only quiet time 
I can’t believe you are only one! I adore this site and have seriously had a problem not making every book. We are all about Adventure in our family so how could we not be all about Paper Coterie?
I had a lot of fun doing the last months April challenge. Even though I didn’t do the last couple photos (I got really busy) I still enjoyed it all the ones before. Really looking forward to this new challenge for May.

Well every morning at 6 AM my boyfriend calls me and wakes me up(he’s my personal alarm clock) haha and he tells me how much he loves and misses me… have to say it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. I always look forward to waking up and hearing something new he has to say. I’m absolutely in love with that guy and he makes me feel like I’m the only girl in the world. <3

After a long and tiring day with a three-year-old boy who throws massive tantrums and screaming fits, we lay down together in his bed and he whispers in my ear “your the best.” Makes me want to do it all over again the next day.
Happy Birthday! I just love these prompts and can’t wait to play along this month. One of the everyday things to which I really look forward is the few minutes alone I have in the mornings before all 5 kids get up…it doesn’t happen every single day but I sure do love it!
The thing I love about everyday is watching my children and grow into little people.
I love the quiet predictability of mornings with my daughters (age 3 1/2 & 1 1/2). Their messy hair, sleepy eyes and a stuffed animal tucked under their arm as they make their way to the sofa to once again return to the covered warmth of a blanket and the predictable voices of a favorite morning cartoon. I know it won’t (and can’t) stay this way forever, so for now I soak up these simple, repetitive mornings with my daughters.
Love the idea behind this months photo challenge by the way. It is the small, simple and often dismissed or unnoticed parts of our life that are often the most important because they are thread that connects us to the bigger, more celebrated (and most photographed), part of our lives…birthdays, graduations, vacations, births, etc.
One of my favourite parts of my day is curling up with a book and unwinding from the stress of the day!:)
I love this idea. I’ve been writing down favorite moments from the day, and yesterday they were about watching baby play time.
I didn’t know about last months challenge but I am so excited to do this one!! Everyday I love the huge smile on my son’s face when I pick him up in the afternoon! It warms my heart when he runs to me saying mama and gives me a big huge! I look foward to that everyday!

I think the most favorite part of my day is when we put the kids down to sleep. After rocking and praying with our 10 month old, I LOVE to hear my husband sing and pray with our 4 year old little girl. It is their special time together and melts my heart to hear them.

I think this is a very interesting challenge to present and I’m going to try and take it. Sometimes I get so caught up in the rush of things that I forget to really appreciate the simple things in my life and this challenge is going to help me do just that.
The first thing I ordered from you was the Memory Keeper Box. So far your the only company that makes them I’ve seen. I freaking love this box! Not only is it super cute, but will hold all of the memories and items that may not fit in a scrapbook or photo book. Its larger than regular paper and thick so It holds a ton of memories! I made one for my son who is about to turn 16. I’m sure one day when he has a wife and kids of his own it will be fun to give to him so he can look bad and share his special memories with his family too.
Sounds like a fun way to capture life as it really is and document for future generations. Would have loved if my parents or grandparents had done something like this.

My everyday is pretty lively with six kids. This year we took a break from homeschooling, after the bus leaves the house is so quiet and I get to sit and sip a second cup of tea, sometimes with my husband if he hasn’t had to leave for the day and that is something I savour!
I am so excited. I am going to do a photo a day all month!! Already tagged my first one.

Love it! May is my favorite month. The rain is drying up…my birthday is in a week…the sun is out…my birthday is in a week…my boys can play outside… oh, did I mention my birthday is in a week? Ha ha… birthdays are big in our house!!

Right now my favorite everyday moment is our boys playing baseball… there are hats, cleats, empty gatorade bottles, fields, bats, and gloves filling my days and I love it!
I dropped the ball last month but I’m looking forward to trying this month’s challenge again! My favorite thing in the world is seeing the way our 13 month old watches her big brother and sister so intently. She just adores them and I can just see her little mind soaking in all their craziness.
I’m a newbie to the website and so far love it. My happy everyday would have to be waking up to my best friend everyday.

During a particular difficult time in my life – I asked someone also struggling how she was making it. . . . . her words taught me the best lesson, “I look for something each day to make me happier.” Since then, I have learned to love to find something “fabulous” about each and every day. It changes daily but the challenge to look for something to make me smile has become easier with each day and has enriched every day! This photo challenge is great because it makes you look quick to find that “make you smile/happy” moment! Love it!
One of my favorite everyday moments is when my husband comes home from work and gives me a kiss hello.
My favorite time of the day is the few minutes that I get of quiet reading before I go to sleep. I love the feel of the house when everyone else is sleeping soundly; the slight sound as I turn the pages; the beauty of the written word; the light-weight feel of the book in my hands; and the smell of the pages. It is one of my simple pleasures.
I think what I love most about the everyday is that moment right before I go to sleep when I think back on all that the day has held…
My favorite time of day is walking into my son’s room to see that smiling face waiting to be taken out of his crib to play <3

What I love about the everyday is that while I know what I will be doing and what is coming…..I never really know what is coming! I raise two twin boys and am now pregnant with a girl. Needless to say I am tired most days, but the everyday brings me such happiness. I really want to do the May challenge!
My favorite part of the day is playing with my 2 year old. She has shown me how much fun it can be to let go of everything for a bit and just enjoy the moment. She makes me smile!

I’ve been doing this challenge since Jan. 1st with Fatmumslim and I love it! I’m big on capturing all the important moments in life, but it’s a lot of fun to get creative and document all the little details day in day out too. Hooray! I’m getting in on Day 1 this time and I’m on Instagram. Hopefully I can keep up! My days are filled with caring for my wonderful husband and beautiful children.
I’m excited to take part in this photo challenge. I like the idea of having a theme of the day to work with for the month.
My favorite part of the day is when my little one is napping and I have a couple of hours to preserve our family memories.
My absolute favorite part of my everyday routine is bedtime with our son. His evening routine includes reading, prayers, singing the ABC and Old McDonald Had a Farm. A tad bit funny, but you can’t miss any of them!

My favorite everyday moment is the stillness that greets me when I go out for my morning run. There’s something about the chill in the morning air as the sun begins to rise over the mountains.

Waking up my almost-two-year-old daughter and giggling with her as she pretends to still be sleeping… Seeing that eyes-closed grin behind her thumb in her mouth melts my heart every morning.
I love my two-years old’s sleepy smile when she says, “Good morning, Mommy” as she gets out of bed. It is ordinary, but it makes me realize that she loves and needs me as much as I love and need her <3
I love waking up to a sweet little voice whispering “Mama, Mama”. Nothing like early morning cuddles full of love!
I love to see what each day brings with my babies, ages 3 and 7 months. We always start the day the same way, eating breakfast together. Where the day goes from there is always different! I am excited about the May challenge. I can’t wait to see my collection at the end!

My favorite parts of the day are when I stop mid moment to just soak in the goodness of all that I’m surrounded by. Whether its staring into my newborns eyes while she’s nursing, watching my two older girls play happily together or checking in on them all at the end of the day when they are all peacefully sound asleep.

Oh, I love this! I’ve started today. And I’ve just discovered Paper Coterie, I’m creating an ABC book for my girls. =) One of my favorite times of the day is when they are napping and I have a quiet cup of tea and read. Another favorite time is snuggling together on the couch and reading books. Life is pretty crazy most days so I love the quiet moments that say ‘stop and drink all this in’ .

Hooray for another monthly picture challenge! I had fun with the last one, May will be a very busy month for me but will make time to do this challenge everyday! Something that I love about the everyday is coffee, when I get to sneak in a nap, taking pics with my iPhone, and spending time with the ones that I love the most!!!
I love the nights when storytime/bedtime goes well – no crying/screaming, arguing over books, arguing over potty or bed… just some peaceful reading and tucking in. With three kids (7,5,2) it doesn’t always go well, but when it does I feel like I succeeded!
My favorite part of the day is my moments in the car on the way to and from work with my husband. It is about our only alone time we have and I so dearly appreciate those ten minutes.
Oh I just found this idea. How could I have missed it. I’m so doing this. My fav part about the everyday are the sweet little moments in between. The times I’m catching my breath ready to start the next task and I look around. Normally I see three really amazing little kids growing way to fast.
My favorite ritual of the day… I guess dinner as a family at the dinner table. I am pretty tired by the time I get it on the table but love how my husband connects with me and the kids during that time and shares scripture with the family after sometimes to connect with what the kids are experiencing in life.
One of my rituals is to boil a cup of tea for me after the kids gone to bed. They are all safe in their beds. I have just made sure they know they are loved and have read some books for them. Then I can relax and enjoy some quite time. For the time being I usually listens to TED talks with our wireless headphones while enjoying my cup of tea with milk and honey.

I love the gift of starting a whole new 24 hours everyday when I wake up. I start my day by saying I am awake and grateful to be alive, and start planning how to help others just a little today.

My favorite part of the day is laying in my bed feeling my sweet baby girl kick inside me while listening and laughing at my one year old son on the monitor as he talks and reads to himself in his crib until he is ready to get up for the day! Little moments are the greatest blessing!

I have 2 adorable little boys, 18 months and almost 5 years old. My favorite part of the day is when I pick them up from daycare after work. I’m so fortunate to have a daycare we all love and a job I really enjoy. Nothing beats the looks of joy on my boys’ faces when they see me each afternoon.

I love waking up to my happy kids. It is fun to see them up and excited for what the day will bring. Seeing the joy my kids have makes the day more enjoyable for me as well even if it isn’t the easiest day. It is the little things that if we pay attention to them they may be simple but bring us the most joy.

One thing I love about the everyday, is those first few moments of the morning when my girls snuggle in to bed with me after Papa has gone off to work, and it’s just the three of us, and I get to enjoy their relaxed, comfortable bodies next to me. I savor that, because it’s “go time” before too long! But every morning for those few minutes, they are still my babies and all is right.

I love that you are doing a photo challenge. I have been doing project 365 and this will be a great addition for May. Something I love about my everyday is bed time with my son. I work full time, so bed time is our special time between the two of us. I always read books to him before bed, but now that he’s getting older he’s asked me to teach him to how to read the books we are reading together.
I haven’t participated before, so I’m excited about May. The adventures I enjoy most are the ones my 3 little boys make up daily in the back-yard.

I love the moment my husband comes through the door for work and guesses what we’re having for dinner based on what he smells. He says it is the highlight of his day, which makes the chore of cooking dinner fun. I love to surprise him with favorites and new recipes just to see his face.
What I love about the everyday is hearing my daughter sing songs before we get her up each morning. She wakes up so happy and full of joy and it is definitely contagious.

The adventure of everyday is the unexpected things that come up during the day. You may plan for your day but inevitably life happens and things get moved around. That is the true adventure and learning to adjust with the flow of it.
My favorite part of the day is the quiet time in the morning when my daughter and I get ready for school/work (sometimes if she is extra quick) we squeeze time in to read some of her favorite books.
Smelling the roses.
The first sip of coffee in the morning. The quiet that settles over the house once the kids have all left for school and again when everyone is tucked in bed for the night. My quirky, funny dog who makes me laugh just about everyday.
My favorite thing everyday is seeing my little boy smile. It melts my heart, makes the bad moments not so bad, and fills me and my home with joy!
I love the evening right before bedtime when I can look back over the day and realize how blessed I am. I usually journal about my day and that helps me to not neglect the little things that happen to enrich my life.
The ultimate best part of my day is the first five minutes after each of my kids wake up from their naps. They come find me where ever I am and I pick them up and we cuddle and chat until they are ready to play. I savor those few moments everyday cause I know they won’t continue for ever.

My favorite thing to do everyday is to notice nature; the leaves blowing in the wind, the v-formation in the sky above, even the smell of wild honeysuckle that blows in the car window when stopped at a light. I try to make sure I give thanks for each of my senses to be able to appreciate every aspect this wonderful Earth has to offer!
