His Boots
June 11, 2012
Each afternoon these boots take their place by the door. Sturdy and strong, worn and exhausted. They trail dirt and walk miles. They hold more meaning to us now than I could have ever imagined. You see, 2011 left us unemployed and saddened by a failing small business. Life took us on an adventure that was both difficult and scary. And then, as swiftly as we were without work, we were blessed beyond measure. Not only a great new job, but one my husband absolutely adores.
So these boots you see, they hold promise. They hold truth. They hold grace.
The man who wears them day in and day out is our hero. He is our mighty and strong force. He is everything I could have ever asked for. Those boots can bring dust and grime until the cows come home, I’ll gladly clean up after them, because they are a reminder. They are the light and the end of a dark tunnel and I’m thankful for both them and the hero who wears them.
