My Daughter
February 22, 2012
This year love embodies something new and fresh.
My daughter.
My brand new, soft as silk, one and only daughter. After two rough and tumble boys, bursting with dirt and baseball and cars and trucks – I’ve been blessed with a dainty flower. A sweet-smelling, pouty-lipped, lovely little gift. As she grew within me I found myself wondering how love could surround three children? Was it possible for me to give of myself fully, to three? How would life change with the addition of a little girl?
And not even hours after she joined our family I realized – it isn’t about the number of children you have or even about having to divide your love between them. You’re simply gifted with enough. Overflowing with more love than you think possible. It oozes from you as you look from child to child. Honoring and encouraging them as unique beings, finding just how blessed you are to have the opportunity to love them, all.
I look forward to this year and the changes and amazing places it will take us, my loves and me. I’m thankful to wake each day able to pour this love onto them as well.
