To this day, I look back with fondness on a trip with my mother to the Catskill Game Farm in New York. It is not because of my actual recollection of that day but from a tattered photo that existed of a four year old me with blonde ponytails and a huge smile on a motorcycle carnival ride. I can still feel the childlike awe of being able to ride “a bike just like Daddy’s.”
Years later, I am sorting through the thousands of images on my computer and creating albums of my own. Each photo carefully selected with my grandchildren in mind. Through the images, I hope our boys will curl up with their own families. Reminiscing and sharing stories of their childhood — the milestones and the moments of everyday beauty.
It seems like a precious gift to leave them.
