Sunshine, daydream

The breeze blows strong at the coast. This day was not unlike any other with its sunshine and cold sand.  The coast of Maine is always wild, no matter the season. We packed our bags to last us the day and walked the coast, down to the rocks. After setting up camp we watched the fast moving tide.

We are happiest here, together and separate, in our play and relaxation. Sitting back to watch the kids, we revel in this daydream. They splash and scream at the coldness of the Atlantic, we laugh at their antics. During a quiet moment we huddled under the parasol (part photography prop, part sunshade) and were quickly bombarded by three boys wanting turns. The perfect mix of delicate energy and tonka trucks, they spun around with parasols and I wanted to freeze the frame on this day, this childhood, this joy of summertime.
